SONG OF A FOOLISH SERVANT

For so long have I been away,
For so long lost and gone astray.
Believing in Romeo and Juliet's lies,
Depending on the heart that dies.

Forgetting that I was only clay,
I let my foolishness led the way.
Ignoring the holy sacrifice,
I listened to Delila's advice.

I thought I'd be happy and gay.
(I was, but they did decay.)
Yet, I was turned cold as ice
To the One who paid my price.

Now I come knocking on His door,
Wondering, will He accept me as before,
For so long have I been away,
So long, lost and gone astray.
